Why can't Arashi have a show like SMAP x SMAP?

I have yet to watch a single episode of Summer Nude (and I wasn't planning to).








Now I might be forced to watch it just to catch the in-jokes on SMAP x SMAP. And I think Nino rocked the Baka Tono better, although I think Goro is the better actor.

I wish they had a show like this, too~ but it takes rehearsal time they don't have, I'm assuming. :(

I really wish they lightened up their schedule and did fewer, better quality shows than the avalanche of material that we get. Something with acting for Nino, performances for Jun, an activity corner for Aiba, an interview corner for Sho, and the occasional roke edition of Ohno's Fishing Club.

It's kinda strange how the TV execs aren't really willing to sacrifice quantity for quality. I thought Atarashi Arashi was a good start! The Nino skits were great.

It's a lazy, short sighted strategy. With a quality product, you get better ratings (well, maybe) but definitely longevity--reruns and sales of DVDs, etc.

An avalanche of product could also tire people out. I have to admit feeling the overload of material. There is NO WAY to watch it all unless I literally had no other hobbies, you know?
