I got off my lazy ass to do some shooting around the neighborhood today. Initially I had wanted to do a collection of the stray cats in the neighborhood, but apparently animal control was more effective than I thought. I only managed to find 3, plus a few other older photos I took. Here goes nothing.

Found this odd-eyed cat in the last remaining village on mainland Singapore.

More kitties under the cut! )

Remember this ballerina guy who came onto the Mannequin Must Item corner!?

I kept wondering where I had last seen him; it turns out that he acted in Kamenashi's drama, "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge"! As a Casanova type, no less!

Apparently Youtube still is a treasure trove of videos despite the crackdown from all the Japanese TV networks. Well, this is safe, since it's Korean variety. In this video, Kara and a few other Korean celebrities talk about Arashi, and Jun in particular. Catch Kara being all starstruck and gushing over sharing an elevator with J!

In a moment of satirical genius, SMAP's Katori Shingo decides to mimic Suzuki Fuku's performance of his single, Iya Iya YO~. Excuse me while I die from laughing in a corner.

Here's the original version performed by Fuku. I recommend that you watch this first to get the full picture.

I made my own petition banner. The quotes written here are credited to the fans who are currently petitioning for it, I take responsibility for only the design.

[livejournal.com profile] strawberrynsalt just introduced me to the Nichijou anime and I am laughing my butt off at these series of clips.

Okay, another one of those random questions that I have from this week's HnA Share House.

junoshima

Did anyone else notice this? She even missed out on one round of the Arashi game because of it.

Hmmmmm...

From the recent HnA Share House with the multitude of female comedians:

nino coffee

As far as I know, the cup containing the black liquid which Nino is holding is unlikely to be coke. And the filming took place at 10pm in the evening, so... you guys can just draw your own conclusions. XD

Since I started a pixiv account recently, I scanned some fanart I did years ago when I was an avid manga fan. (I still am, but I've lost touch with sketching since.)

Himura Battousai, who will be one of the greatest mango protagonists that ever was.
Photobucket

Naruto, from chapter 405. This was sketched with a pen in 2012, but I couldn't get the proportions right so Naruto ended up looking much older than he really was.

Naruto and an original sketch under the cut! )

THIS has got to be Japanese reality TV at its best.

For some strange reason, I’ve never watched the Mago Mago Rowing Club (MMA Rowing Club) saga from start to finish, but now that I have, I felt it was truly a representation of Arashi’s growing years.

Synopsis: Due to an unlikely proposal from Ohno, the members of Arashi were thrust into a 100 day rowing club experience which allowed viewers a glimpse into the dynamics that created the super idol group we have today.

This week's VSA was great, but I won't post any spoilers here for now, although I may do a review of the episode in a later post.

Enjoy Ohno's Sleep Working poster here for the time being! (The sleep working term is the lovely creation of [livejournal.com profile] kyraensui)

Okay, I'm surfing on Youtube and came across this video on "Bumping", a lock picking technique that novices seem to be able to pick up without much effort. This totally freaked me out. The news reporter seemed to do it immediately.

You can read more about lock bumping and how it works here.

This video just eloquently explained why I learnt to translate in my free time even though I had to juggle it with my job. It's so satisfying when people are able to use words and elaborate on a truth. It's a gift.

I discovered this kid's guitar videos some time back on Youtube; he arranges the percussion, bass and melody and plays at simultaneously on his guitar. He's insane. You need to check out his videos if you haven't.

He plays Merry Go Round, from the soundtrack of Howl's Moving Castle. I love Joe Hisashi's music and to hear Sungha play this is just pure magic. (Pardon the pun.)

A much younger Sungha, who plays the hell out of his guitar in this video.

Fans are really spoiled this season, aren't they? Each time I pass by the magazine section in the bookstore I keep seeing new TV magazines featuring either Aiba or Ohno. I just bought a copy of SODA and +act mini today, here are some photos from them. I apologize for the quality of the pictures as I took them with a digital camera, not a scanner. I'm quite particular about the state of my magazines so I won't be scanning these.

Other than the dubious blue patterned fabric lining the jacket's sleeve, I love the styling for this photo shoot. Ohno's skin color goes with the red jacket in this case, and the addition of the black necklace makes the neck look longer.

This is a fangirl/geek review about Kagi no Kakatta Heya, Ohno's latest drama. As Enomoto Kei is someone who is a crime prevention maniac, I thought I'd get slightly maniacal and write a bit about the scientific and crime prevention aspects that may not be fully elaborated in the drama.

Here's Kei in all his safe cracking glory, while Junko looks on with a bewildered expression.

Count down, count down! )

The following was taken from Director Okamura Shunichi's Twitter:

"Although this is just from my memory, the top 5 actors who can most quickly memorize their scripts are (in Japanese alphabetical order), Ohno Satoshi, Saotome Taichi, Chihara Junior, Nishijima Takahiro, Baba Toru. The speed at which these 5 people can memorize is greatly surpasses the capacity of the average person."

Okamura Shinichi is a director of stage plays and has written the script for PLAYZONE.

Can anyone direct me to some Risou no Musuko icons? In particular Nakajima Yuto ones? He had really amusing expressions in this series.

Dear all,

I will be doing a bit of spring cleaning here in an effort to keep things on this LJ more organized. I'll be moving the subs to a community (more of a dumping ground with restricted access) while I keep this LJ restricted to friends only.

The existing translations will still remain open to everyone and mirrored over at the new community, transitions101

Unfortunately, I will also be filtering through my friends list as I will be using this LJ more actively for some personal thoughts and such. I hope you don't feel offended if I've removed you from my friends list, it's just that I prefer to keep track of who's really reading this. Please feel free to send a friend request (and a small note stating that you've friended me before), but I hope you understand that I don't friend people who have an empty LJ, or people whom I've never heard from before.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to read through my verbal diarrhea unless you're interested in being friends, right? :)
