Sho-kun makes for such an interesting blogger. When he retires from being an idol he should consider taking up writing.
Hello.
It’s me.
A very belated Happy New Year.
Please treat me favorably this year as well. m(_ _)m
Well now.
Thanks for all your hard work at the end of 2011/beginning of 2012.
A simple calculation would tally more than 10 hours [of TV time].
It must be equally tiring to keep watching.
Thank you so much for accompanying us all this while. m(_ _)m
Well now.
The New Year’s day of yours truly.
In order to purchase some presents, I brought my parents and we went shopping together.
This was the conversation that took place in the car.
Parent: Well, well… It was great that we made him learn the piano!
(“Well… It wasn’t as if I took it up on my own will… I was already learning to play from when I knew what was going around me.” Of course I didn’t voice my thoughts out loud.)
Son [Sho]: Of course. It was a well made investment!
And then, to have a recital after 20 years at the Kouhaku Uta Gassen, tremendous~! It was an illusion!*
Translator’s note: Sho uses the terms, “Dondake” and “maboroshi~”, which are phrases often used by the transgender talent, Ikko.
And so that’s how the conversation went.
(Although I did spice things up a bit.)
That’s right.
That piano.
The sense of security is definitely different when I have the music sheets.
I didn’t have a smooth time memorizing the piece for Hatenai Sora, so I just played by going along with the flow. I say this with a slight bit of regret.
Somehow, I was able to perform the piece in front of everyone. Indeed, how blessed I am. m(_ _)m
And… to the people involved in the restoration of the piano.
I had the privilege of meeting all of you (including the piano) for the first time on the late night of the 27th. I played the piece with the feelings that I had as I interviewed you all.
To have the privilege of touching the piano keys, and to be able to have the music broadcasted.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
The touch of the piano keys.
The timbre (of the music).
Even now, it resonates within my heart.
Now then, now then.
If I had the chance to play in front of an audience someday again, that would be nice.
If the supposition doesn’t work out, then it shall go back to the “realm of the hobby”.
So this year, like a dragon [soaring to the heavens]…
I shall be giving it my all.
Let’s do it, shall we?
Once again, I ask for your favor. m(_ _)m
