I got off my lazy ass to do some shooting around the neighborhood today. Initially I had wanted to do a collection of the stray cats in the neighborhood, but apparently animal control was more effective than I thought. I only managed to find 3, plus a few other older photos I took. Here goes nothing.

Found this odd-eyed cat in the last remaining village on mainland Singapore.

And this poor mangled fellow was there with him.

Is it just me or are cats sleepy all the time?

Found this little stray who was feasting on a meal of fish put out by a neighborhood cook.

He didn't finish his food, though. Bad habit.

This particular kitty (let's call it Nino) was really friendly. It kept rubbing itself against my leg, which I interpreted as a sign of friendship, so I patted it on its back. And Nino was totally cool with that.

Nino was also comfortable with people invading its personal space. Then it rolled on its back and exposed its tummy, which I took as an invitation to rub it.

But apparently Nino didn't like people rubbing its tummy.

The End.

Date: 2013-08-09 03:16 pm (UTC)I ran through a list of catty names like Tom and Kitty before I settled for "Nino". Because it was being SO CONTRARY.
*sigh*
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! It makes me happy that someone appreciates them.

Make sure you keep an eye on those scratches so they don't get infected.
The next time you go shooting, you should try a trick my uncle uses with the cats in his neighborhood. He blinks really slowly at them and waits for them to blink back. I forget why he does this~ bonding? IDK. My uncle is a funny guy. XD

Date: 2013-08-09 03:11 pm (UTC)Yup, that's why I asked.
I swear Nino thought my hand was a ねこジャラシ or something. After Nino drew blood, it then proceeded to rub itself against my leg again, guess it was trying to tell me that there were no hard feelings.
Cats can be so contrary. ;__;
Your uncle's blinking strategy sounds adorable! I'll try it after I've gotten rid of the trauma.

Date: 2013-08-09 05:30 pm (UTC)They're always sleepy looking because their always plotting ... something - to kill their owners, world domination, the rat problem in Tiong Bahru ... something.
Take care of those scratches. Check your last tetanus jab. If you feel you're in of a booster shot, go have one as a prophylactic measure. With stray cats you can't be too careful.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! More exploration and photos maybe ... ^__^
edited because lj ate some of my words I'm sure... @_@
