Let us listen in on the five members’ secret talk!
A secret talk is held with just the five members of Arashi! They reminiscence about the past 11 years and even answer the most ridiculous questions!
With the setting of, “What if the five of them had a late night radio show?” the talk starts with the members answering questions on postcards that readers have sent in! Firstly, we start with the talk on their private lives~
Continued from part 1
Aiba: Next up, we have a question asking us, “What is one thing that you are likely to be hooked on in 2012?”
Jun: Hmmmm~ I will be acting together with Oizumi You-san in the drama series, “Lucky Seven”, so I guess I will be hooked onto Oizumi You-san. (laughs) Oizumi-san is a gourmet, so I would love for him to treat me.
Nino: Oh! There it is! The declaration of a free meal! (laughs)
Ohno: It would be figure crafting for me, I guess~ I have been drawing recently, so I thought, next time I should probably make some figures. I thought, I would love to take a shot at making something huge.
Aiba: Show it to us when you’re done with it, okay?
Ohno: What should I do? (laughs)
Aiba: I wasn’t able to go for a private vacation in 2011, so I thought it would be nice to travel to various places in 2012. When I went to Yakushima for a work assignment, it was an awesome place so I would love to visit it again.
Sho: I would love to ski. I want to go to Whistler in Canada.
Jun: What kind of place is it?
Sho: It is said that you [reach the top of the mountain] by helicopter, then spend the whole day skiing down the mountain which is filled with fresh snow. It must be really beautiful~
Aiba: As expected of Sho-san, how GLOBAL!* How about Nino?
Translator’s note: Aiba literally uses the word “global”.
Nino: I’m really not doing anything right now~Ohno: It has to be games, right?Nino: If I had to say so, I am currently hooked on sleeping. I slept normally in 2011, so I would love to sleep some more in 2012.
Everyone: (laughs)
Aiba: Alright, next question. What was the significant news of 2011?
Jun: Eh? Must we list 10 pieces of news?
Aiba: No, I mean “significant”, not “ten”.
Translator’s note: In Japanese, “significant” (juudai) has the same pronunciation as “ten pieces” (juudai).
Jun: Ah~ But it’s difficult to narrow it down to one. (laughs)
Sho: It was the fact that we did the “Waku Waku Gakkou” event. It was a big thing for us to hold an event at Tokyo Dome, where we normally hold our concerts.
Nino: We had a nationwide tour too, right?
Jun: And we had a training camp to prepare us for the tour, didn’t we?
Aiba: We had Sho-kun overcome his fear of heights with the training at an athletics camp, and he was able to psyche himself for the flying at Kokuritsu, right?
Sho: That’s right. It was a piece of cake.
Jun: In exchange, his palms got really sweaty. (laughs)
Nino: It was great that the training camp yielded results.
Ohno: I feel that the things which the five of us did together constituted my memories.
Sho: That was a very leader-like comment!
Aiba: We had the privilege of taking on various solo assignments.
Jun: It made me happy to experience various encounters in my work and private life.
Sho: I had the honor of being the MC of a relay broadcast during Prince William’s royal wedding. I never thought that I would be able to do a relay broadcast of a royal wedding ceremony, so I was really shocked.
Nino: I guess for me, it would be the fact that I finally went out for a meal with Ohno-san.
Ohno: We went, didn’t we?
Nino: I have no recollection of when we went and what we ate, so I guess it must not have been particularly significant.
Ohno: OI! It’s important!
Translator’s thoughts: I think Nino’s taking revenge for Ohno rejecting him all these years.
Aiba: For me, it would be the fact that I suddenly became fearful of roller coasters. I was able to ride them before!
Nino: Were you really able to ride them?
Aiba: Could I have made a mistake? (laughs)
Ohno: For me, it would be the fact that I came to understand the charm of Akihabara.
Translator’s note: Akihabara is a destrict in Tokyo famous for its electronic shops and establishments devoted to manga and anime.
Sho: Why Akihabara?
Ohno: I was looking for a remote controlled car, so I was visiting it about once a week. They have many specialized shops so it’s interesting.
Aiba: There’s maid cafes too, yes? You must have gone there, right?
Ohno: No I didn’t. (laughs)
The next postcard reads, “Tell us about any catchphrases that were popular in 2011. And also any phrases which you think might be popular in 2012!” – Female reader, 27 years old, Tokyo City
Aiba: Was there any catchphrase that was popular within Arashi in 2011?
Sho: I have been pushing for “Delicious” for the past 2 years or so but… It’s not catching on very well.
Translator's note: LJ isn't letting me post this symbol, but Sho says UMAI (delicious) with an upturned arrow at the end, indicating a state of excitement.
Aiba: (laughs)
Sho: It’s not becoming popular at all.
Nino: You mean it’s not? “Delicious”.
Aiba: It’s going to catch on, isn’t it?
Jun: I guess it’s because it is ordinary. If you were to write it down it’s really normal. (laughs)Aiba: Now that you mentioned it, I haven’t heard it lately…
Sho: That’s right. It didn’t resonate with society so I have been restraining myself. When the new year begins I will start again.
Nino: That being said, are you going to aim for the Buzzword of the Year award?
Sho: I will aim for a nomination once the new year begins.
Nino: It is good to begin [promoting the buzzword] at the start of the new year.
Jun: If you don’t let the buzzword die down, there won’t be any novelty to it.
Nino: You’re pushing for “Delicious” in 2012, right?
Aiba: That’s right, let’s use “Delicious” frequently!
Sho: Thanks for the support, guys!
Nino: We would like to do our best in backing you up!

Date: 2012-01-25 06:30 pm (UTC)r me, it would be the fact that I suddenly became fearful of roller coasters. I was able to ride them before!'' => Don't know why but I though Aiba wouldn't be the one to be afraid of Rollercoaster. xD
Poor Nino <3 I do feel for him though that he spent NYE alone...Then again, maybe he doesn't care much ? I know I don't really mind for example...And he had Kohaku too, so...yeah...* rambling xD*
I wonder how many hours they sleep per night ...
'' Delicious''... I can't help but think of Dora the explorer and her '' Mmm it's delicious'' xD
LOL. Defintily. Sho-chan proved us during the Koku that he totally conquered his fear of height by stating that he would have prefered staying at the top of the Koku, dancing there rather than get down...And the others commented that during Believe, his knees were shaking badly xD
// I cannot fanthom why Aiba can't do rollercoster, but has no problem with those wires they do during concerts. He was moving so much during the Koku that I thought one of them got stuck or something and couldn't glide easily...According to Nino, Aiba just wanted to get faster =_____= ...For real, that's dangerous ugh.//
Thank you so much for this ^^
